Description

Deka Seal 8936 is a high quality, permanently sticky, and for OEM/professional use. The areas of application are varied and can be expanded as desired.

To date, Dekaseal 8936 has been used, for example, in the construction of buses, caravans, motorhomes, but also in the construction of commercial vehicles and even trains. The sealant should always be placed between a mechanical connection.

ADHESION OF DEKA SEAL SEALANT:

In general, Dekaseal 8936 adheres well without pretreatment to clean, dry, dust- and grease-free substrates of aluminum, stainless steel, galvanized steel, zinc, copper, brass, epoxy lacquered metal, most lacquered metal surfaces, glass, PVC, polyester (GRP), painted and lacquered wood substrate, etc. No adhesion is achieved on polyethylene, polypropylene and Teflon without special treatment.

APPLICATION OF DEKASEAL DEKALIN SEALANT

The application of the sealant can be done by hand or with an air gun (2-3 bar required). Sealing of: cover strips, drains, superstructures, bores, roof constructions, passageways and openings, rubber-glass connections, shutters, pipes, holes, mouldings, etc.

Assembling :

  • windows, or similar in the caravan, wagon, container construction…
  • The substrate should be clean, dry and free of grease. Excess material can be removed after installation without residue.
  • The sealant remains slightly sticky after drying, but it is odorless and paint-friendly.

Dekaseal 8936 is a high-performance polyisobutene (PIB) sealant and a non-curing, slightly sticky plastic sealant that can be removed on its own but cannot be painted.

APPLICATIONS: Sealing of covers and joints in the construction of buses, caravans, motorhomes and trucks.

Sealing screws, important fittings, handles, strips, brackets, fasteners, panel trim and awning rails.

Sealing of sunroof systems, service doors, ventilation systems, windows and fittings. Applied under cover strips for both window installation and fine bubble installation in the construction of caravans, transport vehicles and receptacles.

Suitable for use between metal plate, glass, GFK, wood and other materials.

Sealing the rubber-to-glass seal in buses, cars and trucks.

CHARACTERISTICS: Very low permeability to moisture vapour (0.1-0.2 g/day/m²).

Excess Dekaseal 8936 can be removed after a few minutes with the same product.

Very good UV resistance and proven anti-aging properties.

The sealant must be applied between two fixed mechanical substrates.

In general, good adhesion to many types of substrates without the use of pre-treatment.

METHOD OF USING DEKALIN SEALANT

Dekaseal 8936 can be applied by hand or with an air gun. When using compressed air, a pressure of 2-3 bar is required. The product sprays into grooves, gaps, etc. and smooths. Excess material is removed with the same material after a few minutes. The material can be cleaned with white spirit. The sealant retains a certain thickness after the drying time. It is odorless and does not attack the paint. STORAGE STABILITY The Dekaseal 8936 is frost-resistant. The storage temperature should be between +15 °C and +25 °C. Packages must be protected from direct sunlight and heat. If stored in a cool, dry place, unopened original packages can be stored for at least two years.
